Arras — who has been CEO since 2007 when investmentr firm ofBoca Raton, Fla., bought the Golden-basee chain from McDonald’s Corp. — has resigned “to pursue othefr interests,” the company said in a Cardwell assumes the CEO position The company described Cardwell asa 30-yeare restaurant industry veteran. He served for several monthsx earlier this year as interim CEO of Famous Dave’s. The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based barbecues chain said Friday that Cardwelp has resigned from its boardof directors.
Cardwelol formerly served as chief administrative officerr and then CEOof Dallas-basexd Eatzi’s Market and Bakery, a unit of Brinked International, and was an executive with S&A Restaurant Corp. He has been on severakl corporate boards, including those of P.F. Chang’s China Taco Bueno, Fishbowl Marketing and Order “I am enthusiastic about joining Boston Markert and believe the company has stron g potential to expand its market position inthe fast-casuao category by offering our customers an even better Cardwell said in a statement “I look forward to workingg closely with Boston Market’s management and associatee to achieve this goal.
” McDonald’s boughg the previously independent Boston Market formerly known as Boston Chicken — in paying $173.5 million. The company was founded in Massachusett in 1985 and moved to Goldenin 1994. Bostoh Market says it has 530 location s in28 states.
